SCENIC
BYWAY: Dry Cimarron Scenic Byway
Northwest Cimarron County, NE New Mexico, and SE Colorado have
combined to create one heck of a scenic byway for anyone interested
in adventure, geology, or just new experiences. Southeast Colorado
offers Branson and Picture Canyon; northeast New Mexico offers
scenic points such as Tollgate Canyon, Capulin Volcano, Folsom
Falls, and Clayton Lake. Cimarron County in Oklahoma offers Black
Mesa Nature Preserve and State Park, dinosaur tracks, and the
Cimarron Heritage Center Museum in Boise City. All three areas
have sites along the Santa Fe Trail.
